Epilogue

Centuries of murder saturated the Christ's Crown area with evil until the rape of a young girl drew the devil Mephisto to create a “son”. The advantage is stronger if we play first, but this deck is so adaptable that it can play second with potentially just as much advantage. In either case, we want to lead with [Solar Birth]—and use it to call forth our heart of darkness.

The technique for this primarily involves using Wally to quickly evolve Larvesta—but if you can't get to a Wally—Ultra Ball is there to back you up for Volcarona. If you're playing first, and you don't get a Wally in your hand, you're going to have to search the depths of hell to find him. Be determined, because there are four copies Misty's Determination (a very powerful retrieval card) to bring this forth in an instant—while Ultra Ball, Shaymin, and Maintenance are there to double or triple your draws to Wally.

From there, Malamar EX and Flareon EX do a really hot dance together if you call them forth together. You can attach a fire energy to Malamar and put your opponent's Active Pokémon to sleep, then slip that energy over to Flareon EX in a hot step of {Flash Fire}. Yveltal EX does a hot dance all by itself, it's our powerful backup to Malamar. Aegislash EX can be called forth like the wings of an angel, to turn the daggers of your opponent's Special Energies against them. As can Registeel do for you against Regice (given how this deck was designed for the Standard format). Last in line, Regigigas is our zero option—when all other options fail us—and nothing else will do.

There are a number of other accessories to suite the standard format as well. Such as Parallel City to cut down our opponent's bench, Shadow Circle to cut down our opponent's advantage, and Reverse Valley as another zero option to boost the attack power of our lead spawns. At the heart of darkness here, VS Seeker in combination with Misty's Determination will be your most powerful weapon, bestowing upon you the power to reach through your deck and grab any obscure resources you might need (so you don't have to go discarding masses of cards).

It's going to get you want you need most of the time, and if at first you don't succeed, you can just grab another copy (or another VS Seeker) to try again—that is the essence of determination for you. Use it as your weapon to bring all things to an end. For those who relinquish themselves to the darkness become one with it. Released from the misery known as life—laid to rest in the silence.
